Refund & Cancellation Policy
What happens to your money when a puja is cancelled, missed, or does not reach you as promised.

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Company details marked in brackets must be completed and the whole document checked against the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules and the DPDP Act before launch.
The short version
If we cannot perform your puja on its scheduled tithi, you get a full refund — no conditions, no correspondence required. If you cancel before the sankalp is taken, you get a full refund minus the payment gateway fee. Once the pandit has taken the sankalp in your name and gotra, the seva has been rendered and cannot be refunded.
Cancelling before the puja
You may cancel any booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled puja date and receive a full refund, less the payment gateway charge that the processor does not return to us (typically 2–3% of the transaction).
Within 24 hours of the puja, samagri has usually been purchased and the pandit's time committed, so cancellation is at our discretion. Write to us and we will tell you honestly whether the seva can still be stopped.
When we cannot perform the puja
Occasionally a temple closes at short notice, a pandit falls ill, or a ritual cannot be completed on the prescribed tithi. In every such case you receive a full refund including the gateway charge, or the option to move your sankalp to the next occurrence of the same puja — your choice, and we will ask before doing either.
This applies equally if the puja is performed but we fail to deliver what the booking promised: the sankalp video, or the temple prasad.
After the sankalp is taken
Once the pandit has spoken your name and gotra in the sankalp, the ritual has been performed on your behalf and the offering made. At that point the seva is complete and the amount is not refundable, in the same way that a donation made at a temple is not returnable.
If the recorded video does not reach you within five days of the puja date, or the prasad within fifteen, that is a delivery failure and the section above applies.
Bhet and daan offerings
Bhet and daan sevas — gau seva, anna daan, vastra daan, deep daan — are offerings made at the temple on your behalf. Once made they cannot be reversed and are not refundable. They can be cancelled before the offering is made, on the same terms as a puja booking.
How to request a refund
Write to support@sevapuja.app from the email on your booking, or message the WhatsApp number you booked with, quoting your booking reference (it looks like SP-8F3K2Q). Tell us what happened; you do not need to argue a case.
We acknowledge every request within 2 working days and decide within 7. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–7 working days of approval, and your bank may take a further 2–3 days to show it.
Disputes
If you are unhappy with a refund decision, reply to the same thread and ask for it to be escalated to our grievance officer, [GRIEVANCE OFFICER NAME], reachable at [GRIEVANCE EMAIL]. Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 we will respond within 48 hours of receipt and resolve within one month.
